Why are no insulation fasteners needed for our Stand-Off MPV Bracket?

Ultimate Construction, LLC used our Stand-Off MPV Bracket on the addition to the Homer Babbidge Library at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT. They have used our brackets on several projects now with great success.

For this project, they used our stainless steel version for 4” thick insulation. The insulation is mineral wool. No fasteners were needed for the mineral wool as our bracket fastens the insulation resulting in no insulation fasteners penetrating the air and water barrier membrane. Also, Ultimate Construction, LLC did not have to buy or install insulation fasteners resulting in savings to them.

Using our Stand-Off MPV Bracket to attach fiber cement siding

The Kademah-Torah Moshe Synagogue used our Stand-Off MPV Bracket for the attachment of the fiber cement siding used on the building.

The bracket provides for the mechanical fastening of the cavity insulation. This is Facades, Inc. first project using the bracket. They have just started installation. We will get back to you with their progress and assessment of the bracket.

After their successful first use of our Stand-Off MPV Bracket, Ultimate Construction, LLC submitted it for use on the Henry James Middle School in Simsbury, CT. The Architect, Kaestle Boos Associates, Inc. and their independent specification consultant, Traci Hillebrecht of Architx, LLC, approved the use of the bracket.

What are the benefits of using the bracket?

• Ultimate Construction, LLC saved money on the purchasing of the metal panel attachment system.
• Ultimate saved money on the labor to install the system.
• The project had about 2,300 less screw penetrations through the air, water and vapor barrier.
• Ultimate did not have to purchase the fasteners for the insulation or install them because the bracket has its own mechanical insulation fastening mechanism.

Why use the Stand-Off MPV Bracket?

When Ultimate Construction, LLC was awarded the metal panel veneer work on the Kaiser Hall Addition at Central Connecticut State University they took pricing for the metal panel veneer attachment system from the several manufacturers that were listed in the specifications. While we usually sell only the brackets, Ultimate asked us to also price the hat-furring, z-furring, fasteners and engineering needed for the fastening system. We were 20% less than our nearest competitor.

On top of that, we pointed out to Ultimate that if they chose our system, they did not need to purchase insulation fasteners or pay for the labor to install them since our system was the only one that provided mechanical fastening of the insulation. They came to the conclusion that using our system was their best choice for the project. The project is progressing nicely and they have submitted our bracket on a few other projects that they have been awarded due to the satisfaction with our system.
